On May 26, 2021, ARM Chapter 12 held its Annual General Meeting. Keynote speaker was Linda McQuaig, journalist and best-selling author of such books as Shooting the Hippo: Death by Deficit and Other Canadian Myths, which was selected one of the 25 most influential books of the past 25 years by the Literary Review of Canada, and, her latest book, The Sport & Prey of Capitalists: How the Rich Are Stealing Canada’s Public Wealth.

Linda’s address focused on the theme of The Sport & Prey of Capitalists, (which was reviewed in the February, 2020 issue of After School) outlining several examples of how Canadian public resources were being privatized to the loss of the public good.
