Letter from the President
I know that you will find this space both informative and creative. Hopefully, you will become a regular user as will members of your family, your friends and colleagues.
Chapter 12 of the Active Retired Members of OSSTF (ARM Chapter 12) was established in 1996, and has a membership of approximately 600 in Toronto and throughout Canada.
ARM Chapter 12 offers its members a wide range of social activities, opportunities for continued engagement with the life of our profession and a vital avenue for political involvement in close co-operation with Provincial OSSTF, OSSTF Toronto, other ARM chapters and our many allied social justice groups.
Please be advised, however, that under the current restrictions due to the pandemic, all scheduled in-person activities for this academic year have either been cancelled or postponed. Please monitor this website and your emails for the latest information on ARM Chapter 12 activities. We will renew our activities for our members and their families on the advice of our medical authorities, and always with the safety of our members in mind.
Membership in OSSTF ARM is controlled by the Provincial Office of OSSTF. The application is available by clicking the button on the home page of this website. Membership in ARM includes, but does not require, medical benefits under the ARM Plan. Membership that includes participation in the ARM Benefits Plan will have the $50 membership fee waived in the first calendar year of retirement for a new subscriber, or the remainder of a calendar year for a subscriber already retired but applying after January 1st. The fee will be automatically deducted from their January TPP pension payment. No matter how you choose to join and stay involved in Chapter 12, we welcome your membership and encourage your participation.
If you wish to get in touch, our contact information is under the "Contact" tab.
Best wishes in Federation,
Manfred Netzel, President
